Shizuoka Prefecture has launched its Fuji Pharma Valley Initiatives to form a cluster of medical, healthcare and biotechnology companies at the base of Mt. Fuji. Its planners hope Pharma Valley will promote better health and help to conquer disease, as well as lay the foundations for a thriving regional economy through the concentration of key industries.
